Yesterday was Carter's second day of school. He has been having a hard time adjusting. He thinks school is too long. He complains a lot about it taking time away from playing outside. Guess it is a big change after all to go from half days, to full days.
He had a very tough day. Each kid has a school lunch code that they must memorize, and they must state their last name so that the lunch people know it is his money to spend. What ever happened to the good ole days of cash. Parents are required to pay in advance for their kids lunch, the money goes into an account, and each time a kid gets lunch the money is subtracted.
So since our fridge died, Carter has been getting school lunch each day. Well it just so happens on his second day, he forgot his code, and could not say his last name well enough for anybody to figure out. He kept saying 'Dodella'. So he ended up crying at school and eating lunch with his teacher. This was the first saga, and that is all Carter had to say when getting off the bus. This lead to a phone call with the teacher, and a frustrating conversation about how Carter might have a speech problem. Amazing how quick to judge humans are.
Well back to the fridge. It has been deemed dead by a Sears repair man. It was only 2 years old. The sealed system had an issue that is not repairable, lucky for us, the real manufactor, Amana, will give us a full replacement. The details are still in the works. Looks like we will get a call from Sears with information, I think it will be x dollars towards a new one. So we will hopefully have a new fridge no later than the start of next week, that'll be one week and counting. JOY!

Wow, the start of first grade and no fridge. Life must be interesting at the "Dodellas." I'm sure you will get through all right and Carter will grow to enjoy spending your money on school lunch.
